A Desk For My Boys

For Christmas my boys wanted new beds (they are 13 & almost 15 and were still in bunk beds).  Well, you know how that goes.  I couldn't get them new beds and then just leave the rest of their room alone! ;)

I painted and decided they needed a desk to do their homework at so they weren't at the dining room table trying to study in the midst of chaos!

I told them I was going to get them a new desk and paint their dresser and they both said, "No! Don't do that!"  I asked them why and they said, "We don't want you to do all that work when we are probably just going to destroy it!" Oh, aren't they so thoughtful??  lol  Well, they needed a desk and I had a desk, so I didn't listen and painted it anyway!  The dresser I will wait on...for now. ;)

I sanded the top down and it was a beautiful piece of cherry, so I decided to stain it and do the rest of it black (I thought that was probably the only way they would accept it!).

I thought the knobs were metal because of the inlay on them, but they were actually wood painted gold, so I just painted and distressed them, too.

I think my camera is on the fritz!  Just in time for Santa to deliver, don't ya think??

Now to find a chair! :)

All Star Block Party!

I didn't enter the linky party world until just this past September.  It's been an amazing way to see what other crafty and creative ladies (and some gentelmen!) have been up to.  But, more than that, it has been an amazing way for me to make new friends and meet some fabulous new people!  I've had so much fun posting my own projects and viewing everyone else's.

Last month I was visiting Heather @ New house, New home, New life and had seen an invitation that afforded others the opportunity to co-host their

Nutmeg Place

I've been thinking of hosting my own linky party but was a little scared, so I asked them if I could co-host with them and they said "yes"!  Woo hoo! :)

So, a big THANK YOU to

Shasta @ In the Old Road
Meg @ Nutmeg Place
Holly @ Full Circle Creations

for letting me be the

As a co-host I was able to choose a few of my favorites from last week's party to feature at this week's party!  This was so hard!  I am always in awe of the awesome talent out there!!  Here are just a few of my fav's...

This recipe from Anie @ 14 Sixty looked scrumptious and definitely made it on my holiday menu plan!

Leslie @ House on the Way inspired me with her gorgeous chandelier and front porch.

I adored these sweet little hair pins from Adrianne @ Happy Hour Projects.  So cute! :)

If you've been featured you can grab the "I've Been Featured" button at the top of my blog!  Thanks so much for your wonderful creations!

Now, it's time for you to link up your projects!  You can link up DIY, crafts, or recipes.  Have fun and make sure to visit some of the others, including the other co-hosts at the links above!  Would love if you would follow me, but it's not required.   ;)
